10 Quotes from Championship Post-Game That Will Give Cavs Fans Chills

first_imgWords can’t describe the emotion going throug the hearts of every Cleveland sprots fan right now.Cavs players, coaches, and front office personnel tried to put their feelings into words and here are some of the best quotes of the historic night that will never be forgotten by Cleveland.#10. Kevin Love“You talk about vindication, this is the main reason that I came here and wanted to come here because I knew we’d have a great shot to win a title. Last year I felt like it was taken away from me, especially with the injury. This year got to have my first real playoff run, and it ended the way I wanted it to and we all wanted it to.”#9. Tristan Thompson“I couldn’t imagine it at all. Just reading the letter that LeBron wrote and just what he brought back to the city and just helped us as young guys not being on a team that was a Playoff team elevated my game so much and other guys’. I could never imagine it was going to be this sweet. But it’s a great feeling. It’s a great feeling.”#8. Tyronn Lue“After the game, it was just — I never cry. I’ve always been tough and never cried. Just after the game — my brother is here, Greg, just said: I’ve never seen you cry before. Just a lot of emotions just built up. My grandfather couldn’t be here. He passed away, and all the haters and all the doubters. It just all built up at one time. Then finally hearing that last horn go off, it was just unbelievable. It didn’t feel right. It didn’t feel right.”#7. Kyrie Irving“I’m very thankful that I have a guy like that that’s leading our team that I can continue to learn from. And when my time does come of being able to lead a franchise and see the landscape of how it’s supposed to be composed, I watched Beethoven tonight right now of LeBron James compose a game. He had a freakin’ triple-double in Game 7 of an NBA Finals game. There will still be naysayers, but I know it doesn’t matter to him. It doesn’t matter to me. All that matters is we’re champions and our whole team is etched in history.”#6. Richard Jefferson“I am retiring. I am retiring.” Later on in the night, “My teammates keep trying to talk me out of it, and I’m like guys, this has been the most stressful month of my life. I was like, ‘I don’t know.’”Even later in the night, “Maybe. If you ask me now, yes. But we’ll see.”#5. Dan Gilbert“Thank God that God loves Cleveland, Ohio.”#4. J.R. Smith“My parents, my family, that’s the biggest inspiration in my life. I’ve been in a lot of dark spots in my life, and if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be able to get out of it. But they are who they are. They fought with me. They yelled at me, they screamed at me, they loved me, they hugged me, they cried with me, and they always stuck by my side no matter right or wrong.I know a lot of people don’t have their parents in their life, their mother, their father, but I’ve got the best two you could ask for, I swear. There’s six of us, and they didn’t treat any of us different. They loved us the same. They treated us all the same, and I just wanted to be like them when I grow up.I mean, my dad is easily one of my biggest inspirations to play this game. To hear people talk bad about me, it hurts me because I know it hurts him, and that’s not who I am. And I know he raised me better, and I know I want to do better. Just everything I do is for my parents and my family. I mean, I don’t really — the cars are nice, the houses are nice, but none of this matters without them. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be here. I don’t know where I would be, honestly. If it wasn’t for them, if it wasn’t for the structure and the backbone that I have, I wouldn’t be able to mess up and keep coming back and being able to sit in front of you as a world champion.”#3. LeBron James“Just knowing what our city has been through, northeast Ohio has been through, as far as our sports and everything for the last 50-plus years. You could look back to the Earnest Byner fumble, Elway going 99 yards, to Jose Mesa not being able to close out in the bottom of the ninth to the Cavs went to The Finals — I was on that team — in 2007, us getting swept, and then last year us losing 4-2. And so many more stories. And our fans, they ride or die, no matter what’s been going on, no matter the Browns, the Indians, the Cavs and so on, and all other sports teams. They continue to support us. And for us to be able to end this, end this drought, our fans deserve it. They deserve it. And it was for them.”#2. LeBron James(When asked about fans who hated him for leaving in 2010) “That don’t matter. That’s yesterday’s newspaper. I don’t think anybody’s reading yesterday’s newspaper. They’ll be reading tomorrow that I’m coming home. I’m coming home with what I said I was going to do.”#1. Player ‘favoured’ move to Watford before becoming another club’s most expensive…

first_imgThe 18-year-old has signed a long-term contract that will tie him down to the Bundesliga club until 2024.According to Kicker, the German club paid €11m to secure the teenager’s services and the defender became the club’s most expensive signing in the process. Prior to his switch to Stuttgart, he was also on the radar of Watford. It’s explained in the report that last week, Kabak ‘favoured’ a chance to move to the Premier League, with the Hornets being his preferred destination. In addition to this, Bayern Munich were also keen on the Turkey U18 international.Embed from Getty ImagesHowever, the youngster’s move to Vicarage Road didn’t take shape and he agreed to join Stuttgart instead.Kicker doesn’t explain why Kabak’s move to Watford failed.Stuttgart’s managing director Michael Reschke has claimed the player rejected offers from other clubs to join his side.“We’re delighted that Ozan has decided to join VfB, despite having other offers from big European clubs,” he said.“Ozan is one of the most promising young defenders in Europe and will be an important cornerstone of our squad in the medium term. He’ll also be able to help us in the second half of the season.” by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameChallenge Your Brain With This Must-Play Strategy Game. College Basketball 2012-13

first_imgrams80 RyanMcD29 973 Sports Logos 12-OH! Share this post 0 8,685 College Basketball 2012-13 23 Posted August 4, 2012 The Ohio Bobcats are going all the way this year!Considering they only won the MAC Championship by 1 point last season, and overall were the 3rd best team. I would hope not.But as far as uniforms, I hope they drop the terrible black uniforms. What does the weird tribal pattern have to do with OU?To be honest I have no clue what the pattern is supposed to be. And I actually have a feeling Ohio will go a long way. They will at least make the Sweet 16. Yes we got a new coach but we gained an experienced coach. We only lost one player who was a senior and he barely got playing time. We pretty much have the same team we had a year ago. I know a national championship is a long run but I think Ohio can make a little run. Texas A&M has posted a video showing the construction, painting and installation of their new court. The previous court design was once voted the ugliest court in college basketball by ESPN.com. It had a stained wood key, out of bounds, and state of Texas outline stretching from arc to arc with a T-star logo at mid court which few people outside of Texas A&M recognize as an A&M logo. The new court has the beveled aTm logo at midcourt, a maroon painted key with the SEC logo in it that is untainted. The out of bounds is wood stained with maroon letting that has gray outlines. No pics at this moment, but here is the video. Or a combination of all 3. Hopefully the regular sets look better. Members 37 1,308 posts Posted August 4, 2012 altosax29b The Ohio Bobcats are going all the way this year!
