HP TouchPad arriving on July 1 for 499

first_imgIt’s been known for quite some time that the HP TouchPad would be arriving some time this summer, bringing ten inches of webOS sleekness to tablet fans everywhere. An exact launch date, however, has remained somewhat elusive — though now HP has made things official: the TouchPad will be available for sale on July 1st, with the 16GB Wi-Fi model selling for $499 and the beefed-up 32GB going for $599. Customers in the U.S. will get the TouchPad first, with the U.K., France, Germany, and Ireland following quickly. Canadians will see stock on store shelves starting in mid-July, and other countries will start receiving shipments as summer progresses.Earlier, it had been revealed on Synnex EC Express site that TouchPad stock is due to roll in on June 22nd. It’ll take a few additional days for Synnex to push its TouchPad stock out to the partners it serves (like Staples), but facilitating a July 1st launch won’t be a problem. Engadget also noted the curious inclusion of HP’s Pavilion branding on the details page, though I’ve seen the Synnex system add extraneous branding on products from time to time.AdChoices广告Amazon, on the other hand, had pegged July 17th as the date it will start selling the TouchPad. But with retailers like Walmart and Best But already making room for HP point-of-sale displays, and word coming straight from the official HP blog, Amazon will probably revise its date now.HP is also taking preorders starting on June 19th and teased the launch of an additional model which will run on AT&T’s wireless network — though no date or pricing was revealed.More at HP, PreCentral, and Engadgetlast_img read more
