(Photo by Steven Branscombe/Getty Images)With 2019 National Signing Day just around the corner, Scott Frost is ready to add more future talent to Nebraska’s football program.Frost has already turned himself into a beloved figure in Lincoln, as the Cornhuskers are poised for much-improved results for this upcoming season.Although he is quite busy making his final pitches toward high school recruits, Frost took time out of his day to connect with one of his youngest supporters. The head coach was invited to a 5-year-old fan’s birthday party, but unfortunately he wasn’t able to attend.Instead of ignoring the invitation and moving on with his day, Frost wrote a personal letter to his little supporter. It might not seem like the grandest gesture in the world, yet it showed true class and humility. From 247Sports:“Dear Lily, Thank you for your note,” Frost wrote on official Nebraska football stationary. “I’m sorry but I won’t be able to attend your birthday dinner. I hope that you have a great 5th birthday. Thank you for always watching our games and cheering for the Huskers. Go Big Red! – Scott Frost.”It’s safe to say that Frost is making sure that he stays connected with the community in Nebraska. His success as the Cornhuskers’ coach is obviously important, but his character speaks more to the importance of having him at the helm.Moments like this are simply priceless.last_img read more
