Paving Contract Awarded for Pictou County

first_imgA $1,971,010 road-paving contract for Pictou County has been announced by the Department of Transportation and Public Works. The contract was awarded to Dexter Construction Co. Ltd. It involves repaving on Highway 104 from Exit 27A at Sutherlands River east for about 6.3 kilometres to west of the French River overpass. Also included in this contract will be upgrading of the Highway 104 bridge over Sutherlands River and the Lamont Road overpass. Keeping the Trans-Canada Highway in safe driving condition is a priority for the Department of Transportation and Public Works. The Department of Transportation and Public Works’ highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries.
